i bought some pendulum movements off e-bay at a very good price. they are made in japan and work very well. my problem is that i can't find any flat nuts or minute hand nuts to fit. is this why i got them so cheap? anyone know?

Dear Waddy:

You are probably correct in assuming the reason you got the motors so cheaply is because the hardware is missing. Most all clock motors (especially those from Japan) require hardware that is measured in milimeters. Chances are you will not locate the proper hardware in any hardware store as it is generally always a specially made item.

Just remember the old adage...you get what you pay for and you pay for what you get! Little solice for your situation. My suggestion would be for you to send us your mailing address and we'll send you a couple of different sets of hardware...perhaps we'll get lucky and one of the sets will work for you.

E-mail your physical address to: sales@steebar.com.

Sears tool and hardware store along with home depot and Lowes all carry metric hardware. If these sources dont have the correct sizes search the yellow pages for a local fastener company
