From Kim Komando Radio Show
Phishing is on the rise. Hardly a day goes by when you don't hear about sites that try to steal your information.
In case you're unfamiliar with the term "phishing," it refers to sites that mimic legitimate sites. The creators hope to trick you into disclosing information such as user name and password.
It used to be easy to tell these sites from the real thing. Bad grammar and typos were dead giveaways. But this isn't the case anymore. Phishers have gotten good.
That's why I'm directing you to SpoofStick. It is just one more tool in your arsenal against malicious Web sites. Download the SpoofStick toolbar for Firefox or Internet Explorer. It shows you what site you're visiting. If it isn't the site you think you're visiting, you know to hightail it out of there –fast!
