Hi folks.
I have seen a lot of ads on ebay lately for stabilized corn cob pen blanks.
I am quite interested in turning pens using them.
Does any one here know ths stabilizing process and be willing to share it or can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks; John

I am not sure what they do but do know that to turn corn cobs you first must have good quality and small cobs. Then you must have alot of CA glue because this is what is used to prep them for turning. All the little fibers and kernnels must be secure in order to turn them and this is how they do it. I have not turned any so hopefully someone with experience weighs in here.
I am new to this forum, but have read the ebay ad for corn cob blanks. My understanding is they are treated with a resin or other agent that soaks in to the cob that keeps it firm and from flying apart. Due to the fact that they ar treated with this resin they dont need further treatment with CA.
There is a guy on Ebay, user name iowacobb, that gives this information on his auction for his cobs.
