try wd-40? try to use some sort of lubricant. They make these things for older tools that are rusted together but it should work well for this. Also if you can try to use a jawed gear puller. Just me guessing at a solution. By the way, welcome to the forum.

DR.

I am not sure if I can help you but. The beaver company was bought out by Delta Rockwell years ago and you did not post the model number but here is a list of jointers and you can find the cut sheets there. Maybe one of those is yours. If not this company deals with older tools and might be able to help you so you can email them. http://www.acetoolrepair.com/DeltaHtml/Tables/Jointers.htm Best I can do for you.

Did you get your Drive Belt replaced?

I was looking through the Forum to find out how to do it as well.

I bought a used 3800 last night and it was missing the Drive Belt. I managed to figure out how to do it and it is quite easy.

Let me know if you have not done it yet.

I see this is your very first post so let me welcome you to the boards. Maybe you can give us a little insight to what kinds of woodworking you like to do and where you are from. We love it when newcomers join and jump right in. We are a friendly bunch that like to make saw dust. :)

A source for information on old tools is the Old Wood Working Machines website. It is at www.owwm.com

They have publication reprints from various manufacturers. Beaver Tools is listed among them. The jointer is not listed, but they do have some ideas how to try to get information.

I would have listed it as a url link but my computer refuses to let me use the slash. Every time I try I end up with a *Quick Find* search box

:(

Sometimes electronics and computers are wonderful, and other times just maddening. The apostrophe does the same.

I would like to add my welcome to our two new forum members. We are always learning something new or relearning something we forgot. So keep on posting, as you can tell from reading the posts, inspiration is gained from each other.

edit: The url linking method seems to have changed. I tried clicking on the site I listed above and it took me right to the site. :)
