I was on my tour of the many sites I visit and came upon an alarming post that I thought I would post here. It has to do with a scam that is going on. I will post the person's quote but will not use their name. I asked them for permission and they said yes. here is the post.
"Recently I received a subscription renewal offer to Creative Woodworks & Crafts. It was NOT sent by CW&C, but from some outfit in Sausalito called Magazine Payment Services. I was a little suspicious, since I had just renewed my subscription two months ago, so I called the magazine. This is a scam and CW&C has nothing to do with this outfit, in fact their legal people are looking into it, and Magazine Payment Services has been reported to the Post Office for mail fraud."
Now it is to be noted that in no way is Creative Woodwoodworks and Crafts resposible for this scam. This company is out of Utah from what I understand. It seems to be credable because others have said they were taken advantage of and can not get their money back or anything in replacement. I am just passing this on so that if you recive such notice and it happens to be your renewal time check the address. People from CW&C are looking into it and hopefully this will be resolved but to be safe check before sending money. I guess it is always good to check but we all get into the trusting mode and there are those out there who will prey on us.
