Just got this in an email - wanted to share
Woodworking Channel Friends -
We’re getting closer - After months of work we have finally brought together the necessary segments of the woodworking industry to create what we hope will become an indispensable and valuable resource for woodworkers worldwide --
The Woodworking Channel
Now, we want to give you a sneak peak.
At the end of this message is a link to our demo site. But! Before you scroll down, please take a moment to read a couple of notes:
First –- I want to give you a little bit of background. The demo player was the first thing we developed. Since IE is the most widely used browser, it was built around Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. I know many of you use other browsers (I do, too) but we needed to develop a demonstration that worked with as many users as possible. For now, the demo site will work best in IE version 5.5 or higher.
Second –- The buttons down the left hand side of the video are not functional in the demo. While not all of the features will be incorporated into the first version of the channel they are, however, a hint of what is to come.
Next –- There are three main features of the demo I want you to be aware of:
1. The VIDEO PLAYER. This is the box in the top-center of the screen where you’ll be able to catch the best woodworking content anywhere, streaming live 24-7-365.
2. The FLASH AD BOX. This is the area to the right of the video player where we pay the bills. The sponsors who are making this channel possible will be bringing you some of the best products and services in the world –- and special offers you’ll find only on The Woodworking Channel.
3. The INTEGRATED WEB BROWSER. You’re not the only one with A-D-D! We love to multi-task, so we’ve integrated a web browser into the lower portion of the screen. If you want to research a tool or technique, explore a presenter’s site, or just read the news, you can –- all without affecting your streaming content! And, if you see an ad that interests you, click on it –- you can browse our sponsor’s site, find exclusive offers, and never miss a second of video.
Finally –- while you’re exploring the demo site, please take a moment to enjoy the great content provided by Lie-Nielsen. Type www.lie-nielsen.com into the web browser and take a look at some of their amazing hand tools or a copy of the full-length video that you’re watching.
Brian Boggs is the chairmaker featured in the video. For those of you who are not familiar with him or his work, Brian has been building chairs in Berea, Kentucky since 1983 and is a true master of the woodworking craft. You can visit his website at -

Friends, thank you all for your enthusiasm, encouragement and patience. Please feel free to send me your thoughts about the demo. We’re almost there.
Until then --
