Hello; Does anybody here know of this brand of tools? I know they are German made. I was actually looking for a lightweight scrollsaw to do demo's. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks Bob

I've heard the proxxon name and seen a few test reports on various tools. As much as you can go with the reports they seem to be a middle to slightly upper grade machine. One thing I would have to wonder about on going with a lightweight saw would be vibration. You might have more of a problem setting up then going with a heavier saw, just due to the nature of the beast and the up/down action of the blade.

There are better tools out there than that. Lightweight saw now that is tough you can include any of the $200 saws in that catagory. It is a toss up there but the one that gets good reviews is the Delta SS350.

At this point a fella offered to lone me a scrollsaw he got from Home Depot, I think it is a Ryobi. I will use this for the library demonstration, and see how it goes. I hate the thought of lugging my Dewalt up a couple flights.Thanks. Bob

one note on the ryobi watch using thin blades. I had trouble with the blade holders on mine not closing all the way and had trouble holding a no. 2 or smaller blade.

Dennis; Thanks for the tip. I had better pick up that saw way before I use it for the demo, don't want to look like I should be the one attending the demo! Bob

No problem I had very little trouble with it as ong as I used a No. # 5 blade or larger, and it does have more vibration then some others I've used. I still have it or pieces of it where I've took a little from this saw and a little from that saw and keep it for an emergency backup.
