Well April 15 has come and gone and people are getting their tax returns and I hope everyone was in line for one and it was more than last year's. Heaven knows the gov. takes enough and know how to waste it. My question is if you did get one back are there any new tools in store?? I have to say I did get a few dollars back and have properly spent on some turning tools and will eventually buy a Trend airshield I have been looking at. I usually try to buy my tools twice a year. First end of year because I feel I deserve a year end present and two tax time because I believe the gov. held my money long enough so it is my time to spend it. So are there new toys to be had by others??? :)

Well, John - yes and no - yes state and no fed - personally, I don't like savings accounts that do not pay interest.
As for saving taxes - why does the federal government make 6 times more money on a gallon of gas than the manufacturer?????? (Major gas companies make about 8 cents profit per gallon and the government taxes at 50 cents per gallon). State taxes take up some more.
Oops - just a pet peeve of mine
(obtw - just filled up the truck today with diesel - 10 cents per gallon LOWER than regular :D )

Fred you are right about a no interest loan and that is exactly what it is. This gas thing is way out of proportion. It is not there is a shortage because there is not but it is mainly speculation with China and others becoming big buyers. That is what is driving the price. That plus this idea of the new blend and the not enough ingrediants were anticipated by the gov. What else is new?? What kind of gas mileage do you get with that new truck of yours?? You spent your next ten years tax refunds with those new toys you got. If you want post a picture of your new toys here and show the others what we are talking about. :)

Hey J.T. and Fred,
My sentiments for sure on the price of gas and the government, I'll throw in gas companies Ceo's along with them.
Tax returns: I bought my scroll saw with a bonus from work,my wife has been waiting for 3 years for new furniture so you guessed it, this years tax return goes to buying new furniture! In all fairness she has been waiting a long time. I bet I still find a way to buy more tools though.

JT made mention about spending my next 10-years worth of tax returns (if I got them) on a few new toys. He also mentioned that I should share the info. Well................................. Check 'em out
