Both are excellent saws - I have not delt with Excalibur directly, but I have had a couple of "run-ins" with RBI. I visited their booth at a woodworking show and was really turned off by the "side show" atomosphere the booth had. They also claimed that the RBI saw was the "only saw" able to do several things that most any good saw will do (like turn your work 90 degress while running, and not break the blade, among others). I recieved a call from the RBI office a few days later and explained to him what the show was like and all the potential customers lost during the circus (there were dozens of disgusted potential buyers who felt the same way I did). I told him it reminded me of the Ginsu Knife guy. I also told him they make a great saw, but I would not be buying anytime soon because of the sideshow. They called me back a couple times a week, trying to sell me a saw. After 3 months, and 15 or so phone calls (from them to me), they finally gave up. Again - both great saws - I just got turned off by the RBI company.

Thank you for the input on the RBI saw. I found a man here in Amarillo who has had a Hawk for a couple of years. I visited with him and loved the saw. I placed an order for one today.I'll Let you know what I think of the saw In a few months.
