I recently purchased the new Craftsman 12 inch bandsaw and I am very pleased. This saw has a lot of features that you can only find on larger maore expensive saws. I am normally not very big on Craftsman power tools, but for the features and a 300.00 price tag I could not find anything that compares to it. It a 7 inch cutting height which will be great for resawing. The only thing that I do not like about it is the odd saw blades( 89 1/2). I would recommend this saw for anyone on a budget. I thought I would share this with yall in case someone is looking at buying a new bandsaw. :)

The 7 inch cutting height sounds good, but does it have the power to actually cut something that thick?

Haven't tried 7 inches, only 5 inches of popler. I would think that it depends on the balde and what kind of wood you are resawing.

I looked at the craftsman 12 inch bandsaw also. the reason I choose the grizzley G555 was due to the extension of the cut from 6" to 12". I agree with you on we have to live within our means. Sure it would be great to have the best of everything, but we get by with what we have.
GLAD TIO HEAR THAT YOU GOT A NEW TOOL AND THAT YOU ARE HAPPY WITH IT. KEEP MAKING SAWDUST.
