JT:

A few weeks ago, there was a lot of rain in NJ. Just curious if the flooding affected you or your family.

Now we hear there is a state budget problem.

This cannot be good when the two problems are that close together. Usually major floods mean lots of State workers on Overtime. Rescue workers and police work really long hard hours, then get kicked in the teeth with budget problems.

Hope you, and your family, are surviving.

What is that they say when it rains, it pours. The rain has not been too much of a problem just a pain. The government problem is something else. I have felt the effects personally because as you know my Dad passed away a few weeks ago and we are in the process of trying to get some paper work cleared up. Things like motor vehicle offices shut, courts shut and so on are causing delays in getting things changed over to my Mom. Did not realize the paper work and things you have to do when a person passes on. Being my Dad was a Navy Veteran there is also many things that have to be worked out with them. The irony with the government shutting down they also shut down the biggest cash cows for the state such as the state lottery, the casinos, the race tracks, all which bring in millions per day. So the budget is suffering and what do they do close the things that bring money into the state. Go figure!! Heard there is a settlement near and looks like it will cost us another 1% in sales tax so that makes it 7%. I am sure there is other taxes that will be felt. It is getting way too expensive to live in this state for sure. Another 7 years and I am out of here.
