hoping to hear from someone who can either send me a link or point me in the right direction to find detailed directions and schematics on how to build simple projects like birdhouses,window boxes,etc that also offer materials list and hardware,tool needed..I knowit sounds like alot but I'm trying to get a hobby going on this and have no clue where to go for plans

While this topic probably belongs in another section of the forum <--- editor: thanks, I moved the thread --> , you can find simple projects with detailed instructions in tons of magazines and even on-line at for instance www.freeplans.com . They will e-mail you a free plan each month.

A great magazine for beginners is Weekend Woodcrafts, see www.weekendwoodcrafts.com. They include full size pull out templates, directions, and material lists for a wide range of projects that can be completed in one weekend.

Thank you for the links..They seem to be pretty much what I'm looking for..I've already printed out one design for an easy to make bookshelf that I'm hoping my son will be able to make..Thanks again :)

Then click on the "links" link. Also, any search engine will reveal about a billion links for plans, free or otherwise. ALSO, if anyone is interested, I have a cd (E-book) of thousands of links for free plans. It is not for sale, but I will gladly pass it along to a new woodworker with the stipulation that the recipient also passes it along when he's finished. ~~Phil :D
