Yesterday a dangereous tree remover person called me and said he had just cut down a walnut tree over three feet diameter at the base. The trunk was going to be sawn into lumber but thought I might be able to get a few free pieces of limb wood.
So after lunch today I put my chainsaw in my camper van and went to check it out. I buzzed off nine pieces from a 12" limb and brought them home. I could have got a whole trailer load just because I offered to make the people a nice bowl in exchange for the wood.

Then here they are an hour later cut down into 18 bowl blanks and the ends sealed with anchor seal.
I will turn as many of these as I can while they are still juicy green.
They should make some pretty bowls with the almost white sap wood and the chocolate brown heart wood.

After being under the weather for some time and then going out and cutting these and processing them into bowl blanks I felt like I am 90 instead of 70 especially when doing it on a 36 degree celcius day.
