So when did this turn into a commercial sales site ? ? ? And for Candles ? ? ?
I never open links like that and I would advise anyone else to open only at their own risk.
If they are desperate enough to sell their stuff as to advertise it on a discussion boards site you never know what type of spyware may be hiding behind those links.
Could be legtimate and could be pure spam. Why take a chance ? ? ?

Perhaps the items for sale heading should have guidelines like I have in my site and that it is only for personal items related to woodworking like tools etc .
Below is what I am referring to as the way I have mine set up.

Buy/sell articles over two months old will be deleted just in case they have been bought or sold and they have not informed the moderator to remove them.
They can however be re-posted if necessary.

Then of course , perhaps the administrator of this site has a totally different outlook on what is allowed or what is not allowed.

Some people are just brain dead. I would never buy from someone who uses a site that does not belong to them. they are just trying to sell their junk and not have to pay anything to do it. come on get a life. :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

I am all for having set rules and there are. It is difficult to monitor this site without a moderator or administrator that will take the time. This site is et up with the purpose to share woodworking ideas and to have some fun and it is not designed to be a billboard for every Joe Shmoe that wants to advertise. The problem I have with this post is she started out as an interested viewer.

Hi all. I am tinafay.
My fiancee, Bobbyjoe and I like to make all kinds of wood crafts. WE make entertainment centers, bookshelves, desk, our favorite was the wrap around desk we made. I think i have some pictures on here if anyone wants to see them.

Now give her props for at least putting the ad in the right forum and not every forum like some idiots. That is what drives me nuts. Now why she decided to become this advertiser for her site is beyond me especially here because the viewers here are interested in woodworking related items and not home decor candles. I have sent her a PM to tell her to stop and if she wants to contribute to the discussions it is totally acceptable. I am not sure exactly what is going on these days but it seems there is a rash of this kind of stuff around the internet. I warn you as well as Bill Young who deals with this kind of stuff on his own site along with Fred from Pops Shop, to not open these links because you will create a whole bunch other problems for yourself. Not only could they be virus infested but will create spam mail and pop-ups galore.

So without a moderator or administrator we will have to be very vigilant and becareful. This still can be a very informative site and would reallly hate to see it go. But things like this will not sit well with Steebar.
