Hey guys I haven't posted in a while. I'm going to start turning some fan and light pulls tomorrow. I've already made several deer grunt calls so now I'm adding duck, coyote and elk calls. I'm doing several different styles of pens and pencils with most of them having logos on the clips. Luckily the biggest event of the year was moved from the 3rd week of August to the first weekend in Nov. so I've got to get ready for that.
During the summer when the heat has been so bad I sat on my butt and got behind so now it's time to get up and go again.
When I get some of my new calls made up I'll try to post a few pics.

I don't know if we can attach wave files or not. All of the deer grunts that I've sold have been made from bubinga so far so I'm not sure if that wood will give the tones that I'm looking for in the duck, coyote howlers and elk bugles or not. Bubinga is one of the tonal woods and when I compared it to a couple of other more common call woods such as black walnut it sounded better. A friend of mine who lives in Washington state and does a lot of elk hunting every year is coming in a few days to stay a few days. I figure that his ear will be better for tuning the elk calls than mine.
I didn't get to turn this afternoon, it was about 5 when I plugged the lathe in and it wouldn't come on - BLOWN fuse. The hardware store closes at 5 so guess I'll have to go looking for a 3-amp mini fuse tomorrow. I bet I buy more than one!
