Hello there. My husband makes furniture etc. as a hobby - I always thought he should "sign" his pieces with his name and or date... Is there a tool that burns this into the wood or what would be the way to do this? I am interested in getting him something along these lines for Christmas. Thanks so much. :)

Welcome aboard... Nice to have you here...
Rockler.com also carries both torch and electric branding irons and you can even have one made in your signature. Right now I use a pyrography tool (wood burning pen) but I'm hoping my wife will get me a branding iron for Christmas...

I have a brand I use on as much of my work as I can... I purchased mine about 2 years ago through Steebar.... Our forum host.... I believe they still carry them and when I bought mine Steebar had the best deal around

Hi Wife of Woodsman;
An alternative is to have your husbands signature/logo/trademark laser engraved on 1 inch wood disc, 1/4" thick and have him drill a shallow hole with a 1 inch forstner bit and insert the disc with glue. I'd be happy to do some for you at no charge-send me a PM or email me with details at gperzel@rochester.rr.com.
Best regards;
George
