Jim,
Here is a site that offers engraving. I have never used this, but hope it helps you out.

I've had great luck with Kallenshaan Woods (http://www.kallenshaanwoods.com/). Quick turnaround and great service.

Are there types of woods that do better than others for engraving? I have never had a pen engraved but I am considering having it done and would want to use the correct type wood.
Does color, hardness, grain, etc make a difference.
Thanks,

Thanks to everyone for the engraving site references. I'm not ready to have my stuff engraved but they did have some other unique kits. I've added them to the sites I monitor for sales and closeouts.
So OK..I'm frugal....cost concious....OK! OK! CHEAP!!!

wilcher-
the type of wood shouldn't really matter as long as it's LASER engraving because it burns the letters in at a very presice depth whereas you really don't have enough wood left after turning to use mechanical engraving.

You can probably find an engraver close to you. Many are listed in the Yella pages and some may be found under Plaques and trophy makers.
