Turning?????

I have found three loggs of Tree Of Paridice. Is it an easy turnining wood? Do you have to start with a block or can you turn a round log?

I do not know the wood you speak of nor do I know your turning experience. But with that said I will say any wood can be turned just that some are easier than others and if it is green wood or dry stable wood makes a difference also. To your question can a piece be turned in block form or spindle form the answer is either way. But if the piece is large and off balanced slow speed is a must. Good sharp tools and a lathe that can handle the piece are basics.

Thanks for information. The wood is called Tree Of Paradice but it has another name that I canot spell.
