Was just wondering what most of the scroller's here are cutting.
Scroll Saw Portraits?
Crosses?
Ornaments?
Jewelry?
Baskets?
Clocks?
Lets here from ya.

I am not really doing much scrolling, but I am currently working on a toy truck that will have a log loader on it. Then I am planning on building a log skidder. I haven't got to do much woodworking this year because of other honey do's and I just had knee surgery about 3 weeks ago. I am now able to get out in my shop and have fun.

I've been making several Wolves from CW&C mag. I have made them with Walnut and Oak. The local art gallery asked me to place a few items in their gift shop. Cool!!

I have had so much fun for the past week, I can hardly
stand it. The whole object of this missive is to celebrate
the sense of accomplishment and the real good feeling that
having a lot of projects to cut and having all the right
tools.
It all started out a couple of weeks ago when my shrink
changed my depression meds. The new stuff really works.
With this new-found energy, I started on my Christmas
projects. Having my second-eldest daughter and family
coming to town from Utah for Thanksgiving helped a lot.
Buying a new drill press and a 4 x 36 belt/disk sander from
Big Lots also helped. I put the drill press behind me and
my scrollsaws on my workbench - within arms reach. The $69
drill press is so accurate and easy to use that I used it
to do all the entry holes - some as small as a #73 drill
bit and drilling an 1/8th inch hole in the end or a 1/4in
dowel!
Started making Diana Thompson's 3D boxes (5) -'Scrollsaw
Workshop, Holiday 2003', three of the 'Wood Magazine" -
Sept 1996 - wooden wrist watches (3), Tom Seaver's Volker
Bell Ornament in SSW, Hol. 2003 and a bunch of tree
ornaments.
Made 12 different 'Personalized Christmas Ornaments" (SSW,
Holiday 2003 for the folks getting together for
Thanksgiving dinner This Thursday.
I made a couple of the "quarter Pounder with Cheese" toys
in CWC, Nov 2003 and a couple of 'Global Positioning
Device" (CW&C, Jan 2004).
Boy do I feel like I really 'did' Christmas in grand style
this year

I just finished making some if lora irish 's wolf cougar and horse patterns and I finished sawing (not oiling) JGR's United We Stand Pattern in oak for a customer.
I just got my Roman Cathedral Clock pattern in and I am confused about the false plates. The impression I get is that I make a backing of the whole clock (false plate) and then cut out the pieces and attach them to the plate. This would not give a see through effect so I must be reading it wrong. No picture of finished clock to study. I know there must be a simple explanation hope someone can explain it to me

I think the easiest way to explane "false Plates" is to call them
sub floors and ceilings, they are what the sides and front are monted to ,then the section is mounted to the floors
