One of my crafter friends showed me this site where some company is wholesaling "handmade" wooden roses (minimum purchase - 800). Fortunately, it's not something I do but I do know a few guys who are producing these. One more thing for buy-sellers to sneak by the juries. Pretty pathetic. Figured I'd give you guys a heads up, it my pay to ask the vendor if you see them how they make them as well as give the promoter a heads-up.

I saw mention of this on the craftlister.com site.
See if you can get the website so it could be passed on to the promoters.

Thanks for the heads up. If the site is not laiden with a bunch of spam I too would like to see it. I know a fellow actually two people who do wooden flowers. One guy turns them on a lathe and one person scrollsaws them and they both are pretty cool looking. They were at a show I did two years ago. Does it say how these were made??? They have to be mass produced somehow but that is an awful lot unless you are talking those basic flowers you stick in the flower beds at Easter or Spring time.

I didn't see where they said how they were made but here is their site (if this is a problem please feel free to delete it).

Below is what I don't like:

Web Server Logs.

When you visit our Website, we may track information to administer the site and analyze its usage. Examples of information we may track include:

Your Internet protocol address.
Number of links you click within the site.
Date and time of your visit.
Pages you viewed on the site.

I am waiting for the spam to come.

Mike,
That's pretty normal stuff, most sites collect that kind of info to determine number of unique visitors (this is what the collection of the ip address is for), which pages (or products) are getting looked at the most etc. I have the same type of information being gathered on my site and I can assure you that it has nothing to do with spamming people.
I don't see anything there that could get you spammed. Typically, you have to enter your e-mail address somewhere along the line in order to get spammed. If you're really worried about it, you can disable java scripts in the internet options of your browser (of course, most sites won't load properly if at all without them).

Same here Kevin. That seems to be pretty normal procedure . It is part of my own WWF site as it is with pretty well all sites. It is just that it is not made public on most of them but quietly running in the background.

Mike,
As a web designer I can tell you with a fair amount of certainty that if they intentionally tell you they're collecting information you probably don't have anything to worry about. And, if that's all they're tracking it's pretty normal. The ones who make a practice of harvesting email addresses usually do it with a script and without a warning. In fact, if they're any good you won't even know it until your inbox is full.

I thank all for the explanations and feel sure this is a normal site. I thank Kevin for the heads up. I have to say the flowers do look nice. They must have some sort of jigs set up to be able to bend the veneers that way.
