I heard a small voice in my shop whispering turn me , please turn me
It was a piece of cherry left over from another job. So I made a small bowl out of it this afternoon . It is only 2" x 6" but I think it turned out OK.
Hope the finish is not too shiny. I am using up some friction polish that is made for pens. Not good enough for the amount of handling a pen gets. but should be good enough for this type of thing. That stuff is expensive and I have several brands of it that I want to use up on bowls or lamps or things that don't get handled as much .
Comments on both the turning and the finish are welcome.

Very nice. I like that satin finish and the detail on the bottom is overlooked by many turners.

Very nice...
I agree with Paul about the detail on the bottom being overlooked by many turners, but rest assured it is not over-looked by customers... It seems the first thing they do when they pick up one of my bowls or hollow forms is to turn it over and rub their fingers across the bottom.
