If you haven't checked out the web site, go to Rick's Scroll Saw site
http://www.scrollsaws.com/
On the site he has added some old, (antique), scroll saw patterns from Germany, from the mid to late 1800's....
I purchased a few of these and am in the process of laying out one of the clock patterns. Instructions are in German, (with some English on some of them), but like Rick says... they are pretty easy to figure out.
I'm going to try and get at least a couple of them done for the "Art Show" I've been invited to in September......
I plan to include a brief history of where the pattern is from in the display...

I was just looking at those patterns the other day. He certainly has a lot of nice patterns in his site.
Rick sure has a ton of interesting information on that site from scroll sawing to pattern making and sales to wood turning on his lathe to . . . you name it. . ..
A very talented and helpful man indeed . He must spend a lot of time in his shop as well as time adding to his site. I was amazed at his miniature wood turnings made on a full size lathe that fit on the head of a stick pin since he has more recently got involved in turning..

Dave
Having not been in here on a regular basis any more I just noticed this posting about clock patterns that you purchased and noticed the date on the posting. I was wondering if you got around to doing any of these patterns yet and if so maybe you can share a photo or two. I do understand if you are too busy to get to them.

John
Just returned from 10 days at our lake cabin in Minnesota
I ordered about 1/2 a dozen of the German patterns.... I have one from 1879 all cut out. I have to sand, stain and assemble it.....
I want to have this ready for the "Art" show I am doing in late September.
I was able to cut all the pieces with out my German neighbor as a translator
I need to take the time to take pictures of this and other clocks I have done, in addition to new wildlife scenes from a variety of people... again, getting ready for the Art show
I did enter 4 items, (one was a desk clock), in the North Dakota State Fair....
I rec'd a Blue ribbon on the clock, red ribbon on an antelope scene I purchased from the Old Griz.... also a white on an Old Griz Mountain Lion on a bluff scene. and a red ribbon on a Mountain Lion Head cut into a Basswood Beavertail.
I will try to get pictures taken and uploaded to this web site and also to my website

Dave;
You mentioned Old Grizz.
I have not seen him on any of the turning or scrolling sites for a long time. Last I heard he was making some very high quality top end pens on his lathe that some collectors far and wide were buying from him.
Do you know if he is still woodworking ? I hope all is well with him.

Thanks Dave.
The link you provided led me to this one and I bookmarked both.

Perhaps he is just too busy making patterns and cranking out his pens to participate in the various sites lately.
