I'd like to throw out a question for comments. I cut quite a few of the "Words of Faith" style cuttings from the book by Jeff paxton, plus I do several of my own creation. Each one is 8X10 in an 11X14 matte. I get a lot of positive comments at shows and do sell some, but so many people want a different color matte. I try to use common colors. Anybody have a problem with this also? How do you handle it?

Thanks a lot,
Ray

I don't know if that is so much of a problem if they are willing to order it. You can make them any color they want and after seeing examples that you have they know the quality of work they would be getting. It never fails and it goes for many things. You can have different colored baskets or clocks or whatever and there will be someone who wants a different color. Or you may have names for desk sets or such as I sports clocks and of course you don't have the one they want. But that is what orders are for it gives you an excuse to get back in the shop. Just tell the people it is impossible to have every color or every kind of item but you will make it for them.
Here is an example. I have been making these wooden baskets for many years and make them in many different woods and combinations and also in two different sizes. Now I can't possibly have all colors and all sizes all the time so that is where I take orders and works out fine. I am sure you can do the same thing. Good luck.
