Anyone ever seen an attachment for a spindle steady that would attach to a lathe that has a tube for a bed?

Filter: I don't have a direct link to what you are asking for but the lathe appears to be a model that Sears was selling a few years back. If it is the same diameter of tube Sears has the tool rest & clamp assembly listed in their parts dept.
Sears parts for lathe 11323851
part # 7002
diagram reference #51
http://www3.sears.com/
Enter the model number and click 'go' then click 'continue' then 'continue' again to get to the parts page. Unknown what the cost is
This assembly would give you a flat surface to mount the spindle steady.
Harbor Freight even sold a lathe in this construction style.
Hope this info is of some help to you.
**Edit** Just a little more info on the Sears lathe, they were made by the Emerson Electric Co.
