Ok Newbie to pen making. I am Making some pens for some guys That I know that are in the service. I want to put thier name and unit on the pen. Is it possible to paint the name on and then use the ca method or use the HUT sticks to seal and polish without taking the paint off? any help would be appreciated! As soon as the pens are done will post pics of them

I am sorry I do not have an answer for you on that but suggest you do a sample run on some scrap. Use a permanent marker such as Sharpie and then the glue.If it were a piece I would coat with shellac to seal it. But I know guys who sign their work with felt pens and use poly over it and it is good. My guess it would be just fine but like I say whenever you aren't sure of a finishing process try on some scrap piece. What do you have to loose rather than experimenting on a good piece.

I love that Dymondwood. I make watch bands from it and it looks sharp when he light hits it just right.

I have seen some postings on the Yahoo penturners group of pens using stickers. Usually these are flowers or some other artisic item. The same concept should work for a pen company name.
